My friend Gris-Gris
A couple of months ago, an animal started getting into my recycling bin, looking for food. It seemed especially fond of tuna and salmon cans; it broke my heart seeing the little teeth marks where it had been trying to glean any food that it could. Then, I saw dusty cat prints on my car windshield, and knew I had a cat friend stopping by. I started putting out dry cat food every day, along with water, as well as an occasional treat or canned food, and my friend came by to eat, and stopped rummaging in the recycling bin. I finally got to see him or her, mostly at a distance; usually in my back yard. One afternoon, it paused, and just sat in the backyard looking at me, before it left. Beautiful cat, with a charcoal grey body and white paws.
I now call my friend Gris-Gris, and am hoping to be able to pet him or her some day. I would gladly adopt Gris-Gris.
