Updated 11/15/25:

My sweet Ric left his earthly life at around 11pm last night. He was sitting in my hand, and I was petting him, and he fell over dead in my hand. 

At around 10:30 am this morning, I buried him in my patio area, in a silk scarf of mine, that was the colors of the sea, muted greens, blues, and turquoises, with a millet spray (his favorite treat), dried sprigs of rosemary, and dried rose petals. I sprinkled him with lavender, peppermint, and bergamot essential oils, and a spritz of rose water that I had made. 

Ric has been with me since early December of 2007. Because I got him at a pet store, I have no real idea of his age, although I do estimate it to have been 19 or 20 years old. I am fortunate that he picked me out and called me family.
